Warbler Weeks
Living on the Mississippi flyway, I have a great chance to see warblers as they migrate through. And besides hiking at the Wildlife Refuge, I have been working on "Mystery of the Missing Migrants" by Charley Harper, an interesting mid-century illustrator who knew his birds! I have really enjoyed working on the thousand pieces and getting more familiar with warblers in the process. So far out in the "wild", I've enjoyed very good views of Redstarts, Yellow Warblers and Common Yellowthroats, but the other small yellow green flickering in the foliage is challenging to identify since I'm not quite capable with the songs and calls. Always lots to learn.
